Fir Street Cemetery

This cemetery is located on Cleveland's West Side, on Fir Avenue between West 59th Place and West 61st Street, and has also been known as the Hungarian Aid Society Cemetery. The Liberty Aid and Hungarian Aid societies founded Fir Street Cemetery, the second-oldest Jewish cemetery in Cleveland. It is composed of three sections: Anshe Emeth, Hungarian Aid Society, and Heights Jewish Center. Information available from Park Synagogue, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, and Heights Jewish Center. There are some burials dating from 1860s, however burials no longer take place at Fir Street Cemetery. A note on the gate says to get a key at a house across the street. The Cleveland JGS has an enumeration of this cemetery in its Research Library Collection at the Fairmount Temple Library.
