Membership Meeting and Program:   Hear from President Deborah Katz about the state of the organization; changes for the future; and the election of open positions on the Board of Trustees. Then review quick tips with Dr. Robin Selinger on useful things to do with your autosomal DNA results. You can download your raw data and upload to free sites such as GEDMatch to find more DNA matches; use an inexpensive tool such as Promethease to analyze your DNA profile for potential health issues; and use some tools to investigate how your DNA matches are connected in your family tree. Beginners and experts are all welcome!

Speakers:   

Robin Selinger, PhD grew up in Arlington, Texas, and earned bachelors and PhD degrees in physics at Harvard University. In 2005, she joined the faculty in the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University where she holds the rank of full professor. Dr. Selinger serves as the cantorial soloist at Temple Beth Shalom in Hudson and a trustee of JGS Cleveland. She loves to solve mysteries and has experience as a “search angel” in using DNA data to identify unknown relatives including biological parents.

Deborah A. Katz, JD, PhD is the president of JGS Cleveland.
